As I'm sure many of you know, something is seriously wrong with the speed force. Random people have been speeding up until they die from heat, and heroes who are superfast have been speeding up randomly, too. I'm sure you've seen this in the papers, but you may not have known the Speed Force was responsible. Most superspeedsters have a link to the speed force, even, apparently, me. My powers don't derive from the Speed Force, but, apparently, I have a link to it anyway. Since I'm not a science type, I've been working with Mr. Terrific to try and figure out what is going on. Also, for a while, I've been hearing whispers in my head when I'm going near my max speed, or pushing it for some reason, telling me to "Go faster". Yes, voices. Yes, I told people. No, I'm not crazy. Turns out it was the Flash, trying to communicate with me, from the Speed Force! Apparently, he's alive, and stuck in the Speed Force, and there are other things stuck in there with him. Or maybe there has always been a Flash out here, bleeding some of the energy off when he used his powers, and since he is stuck there, all the energy is building up, and bad things are happening. We don't know, but trying to go fast enough to catch the Flash, apparently, isn't going to work. We accidentally ripped a whole into the speed force dimension, and these speed demons came out, and attacked us. It was weird, they could come out, but the Flash couldn't, or maybe wouldn't. Anyway, they came out and attacked us, while the Flash worked from the other side to seal the rift. We kept throwing them back in the rift, and they kept coming back out, it was kind fun. Once the rift sealed, though, this ball of speed force energy was left behind, and kept trying to wrench us into the speed force dimension. It actually took little pieces of it every time it happened. So, yeah, I've had better days. I heal on the fast side, but nowhere near how Gekko heals. Its going to take me a week to get get back to fully healthy, and with the crap state the world is in, I don't have that kind of time.
Oh, and, I'm sure if I didn't mention them, my comments would fill up, so yes, the Brainiac domes. First, let me say, I know a lot of you are scared, or can't work, or can't even feed your family. It would be callous of me, living in the Embassy, with food, medical care, and heck, even showers, to just say how can you people even think about that. Your scared, or desperate, or both, and scared, desperate people don't often think straight. I get it. Some of you have already gone in, or are seriously considering it. Ultimately, you have to make that decision, and, yes, it is your decision. So, make sure you make the right one. I won't tell you what the right decision is. You know. Even desperate, or scared, you know what the right decision is. What is it that was said about freedom and security? Let me google it, hold on. Oh, here it is.

(OOC): Of course, no one in the dome can access the outside internet.. at least not yet. Google might actually be up and working. They are just that cool. Either that, or LexCorp bought the company.
ReplyDeleteJust a side note, Mr. Terrific can tell you after he reads this post that your not actually accessing the speed force on your own, you have no connection. It is likely that the Flash can simply connect you when you get fast enough.
Skyline: you have to fight some fights not to win, just to fight because they need to be fought. Brainiac's solution is the death of what makes us human if you give in you have already lost.
