Funeral

I've been trying to keep thinking about Haze for the last couple of days.  Its hard, as, even in death, her curse seems to linger.  I did a sculpture of Haze for Oracle to help her remember, and it became an exercise in focus.  I had to focus on the image of her in my mind, and if I lost that image, I had to stop.  Eventually, I got to the point where I could keep the image of her in my mind, and work the stone at the same time.  Maybe that focus is why its one of the best things I've ever made.  I gave it to Oracle today, at the funeral.  Diana came.  Nice of him, I don't think he knew Haze.  Black Canary and Green Arrow are here.  Nice of them, I didn't think they knew Haze.  Heck, even Batman came.  And ghosts.  A whole bunch of ghosts came for the funeral and the wake afterwards.  John Constantine is here, and he wants to talk to me about something.  He says I've taken "a step off the sidewalk" or something.  I think he's trying to warn me that all this stuff with Haze and the Marvels has gotten me involved with the mystical world, and he's here to explain the rules to me.  Oh, and hey, another one of the Outsiders popped up.  Omen came to the funeral somehow.  I guess there is still a couple more out there, somewhere.

I'm still a little numb.  Its been a rough couple of days.  Sculpting helps.  Its my zen.  My way to just try to focus on what I'm doing, and not think about anything.  I've been talking to Martian Manhunter, too.  About this and some other things.  He just seems to get things, and be able to help you talk stuff out.  I got mad when Haze died.  I just lost it.  Lost it like way back when like I lost it on that Bane thug.  That rage is a piece of me I don't like, a piece of me I want to change.

Looks like most of the people are heading inside.  Time to get dressed, and go the wake.  I'm sure I'll have more stuff to say after the wake.

Haze is Gone

She's dead, and I killed her.

The "somethings happening" from my previous entry was a portal opening up, and a god walking through.  An evil god by the name of Trigon.  The hero Raven's father.  An evil being of unimaginable power.  Somehow, he took advantage of what was going on with Mary Marvel, and somehow opened a portal to our world, to try and consume our world, as he has consumed so many from his dimension.  In the process, he summoned his daughter to him, and used her magic to summon the old Teen Titans to him, and he took control of them all.  So, the people who had assembled to rescue Mary Marvel, and Mary Marvel herself, had to defeat the old Teen Titans, while the magicey types had to find a way to close the portal.  Knocking out a Teen Titan seemed to snap them out of the mind control.  When we had them all freed, except Raven, Trigon himself stepped through.  I've never been hurt as much as I was hurt when Trigon hit me with his whip.  We carried on, and fought, and contained him, we were starting to lose people left and right.  Then I got called over to the magical end of things to help out over there.  When I came back, several heroes where down, including Superboy, Gekko, and Starfire, and two of the three magic people were down as well, including Adam Scott and Zatana.  I'm not sure what happened, but, the spell started to collapse, Haze somehow kept it going, and Trigon thought he might lose, so he used his last trick.  He possessed someone.  Now, he can possess someone, but the rules of magic or whatever dictate that a person who loves the person possessed is willing to sacrifice them, Trigon loses.  He goes back to his dimension, and gets locked out of this dimension, forever.  So, he tried to be tricky, and possessed Haze.

You see, you probably don't remember Haze.  She was somehow cursed to always be eventually forgotten.  Trigon thought that because she was always being forgotten, that nobody could love her, and, hence, no one could make the sacrifice.  But he didn't read the fine print.  Apparently, if Haze loved someone, that person could still complete the sacrifice, kill Haze, and banish Trigon.  And that person was me.  I didn't know.  She never told me, and I never noticed it.  She probably didn't want me to.  All Haze's relationships all end the same way, they forget about her.

So, there it is.  There was no other way, nothing else to be done.  No way to save her once she was possessed.  Haze told me to kill her.  I'm a Amazon.  Raised to be a warrior.  I did what needed to be done.  I told her I was sorry, and I killed her.  I couldn't even give her a clean death, as I had no blade with me.  And now I'm left to pick up the pieces.

I shouldn't feel this way.  I shouldn't feel GUILT.  I did nothing wrong.  But I do.  I've never killed anyone before, and now I've killed a friend.  Who loved me.  Loved me with enough force to banish a god.

Hera help me.

Its Black Adam's fault, of course...

We thought the world could use another hero, so we hatched a plan to get Mary Marvel back.  Most of you know that she went insane, and was just running around the world, collecting magical things.  No one knows quite why this happened, but everyone thought the precipitating event was Black Adam giving Mary Marvel his powers to go and get his lady love back.  Nope, apparently he gave her something called the Key of Eternity, and that is what screwed everything up.  I have no idea what this key does, but I have it currently in my hands, so hopefully it doesn't drive you crazy by just touching it.  Zatanna is yelling at Black Adam right now about giving her the Key.  Something about how he was trying to bring back Isis as a goddess?  Uh oh, something is happening, gotta go.

LOL

Wow.  Those Joker Boys crack me up.  We just finished kicking their butts, capturing two of them, and they come after us again.  I think they were trying to rescue their comrades, but they really didn't think that through.  That, and they impersonated Batman trying to get us to give them the bad guys.  We saw through that pretty quick, kicked their asses, and sent them packing again.  Saw two new ones, though.  This woman that shoots fire out of guns and lights things on fire that touch her (never got her name), and Ringmaster, who teleports people and traps people in rings.  We didn't, though, manage to capture any of them this time, but we hung on to our old prisoners.  And, look out world, Harley Quinn seems to have become an Omega Wave super.  Hopefully, she forgets and punches the Joker and the world is a better place.  Just a quick one for now.  More later.
