School's in

Deals with demons.  You'd think in this day and age people would know better.  Apparently not.  We ran into a group of people who had sold their souls for money and power.  Lawyers, of course.  Too funny.  Anyway, this cult of demon worshippers is down a few members.  We tracked some serial murders back to them, and raided one of their strongholds.  It seems almost as if my teammates and I have switched roles.  I was suggesting some cautious recon, while Gekko and Skyline wanted to bust right in.  Actually they wanted ME to bust right in, literally fly through the mansion and into the basement where the cultists were hiding.  My kind of plan.  I immediately came to my senses, and away we went.  Even though I flew through the building very quickly, they still seemed to know we were coming, as they had put this weird spell up that let one of them draw on the strength of the other five while those people were stuck and could do nothing but chant and get beat up.  I turned into a very intense fight, with the demon possessed cultist was able to transfer a lot of the punishment she took to her friends, while blasting us with two sets eye beams that reminded me of the Super-family's heat vision.  Ouch.  Very painful.  And she was very accurate with them.  She managed to nail me twice, both times I thought I was going to be able to deflect them.  Almost took me out, was wobbly for a bit.  I kept doing damage to her friends, and then decided the best way to win was to grab her, and keep her head turned away from us.  She's as strong as I am, maybe a little stronger, but I managed to keep hold of her, and started using her as a battering ram to run her into her friends.  Once all her friends were down, she finally managed to get free and teleported away, leaving her "friends" to us.  Guess you gotta expect that from demon worshippers.  So, we captured the five friends, and they won't be able to pull that trick again.  At least, until they convince others to sign on the dotted line.  We will be asking the authorities to take legal action against the cult, so this should make it harder on them, but there are always, it seems, stupid and desperate people in the world, willing to do anything to get themselves in a better position.  So, I'm guessing they will manage to fill in some of the gaps before we are able to track them down again.

So, you may be wondering what that has to do with the title?  Nothing.  Nothing at all.  Diana and I have decided to start a school!  Well, Diana is helping with resources, but this is pretty much my project.  That is what I was excited about at the end of my last entry.  I mean, if people like Scandal Savage are going to make schools for all the wrong reasons, I should be able to do one for the right reasons.  No indoctrination, no setting up armies for the future, just a place where kids who are having trouble controlling their new powers can come and learn.  I've already got some land lined up, and Sydney and I (mostly Sydney) are looking into what licenses, accreditation, etc, while need to get started.  I've been checking with some mostly retired heroes, asking them to teach.  I think this will be great.  I need a name, though.  Any good suggestions out there?  Most of mine have been taken from Greek history (I AM an Amazon...).  So, I've been thinking stuff like the Academy of the Muses, the Daedalus Academy (Daedalus is kind of a dick, though, the name is associated with science and smarts, but he was also jealous enough of another inventor to throw the poor guy off a tower), the Athenian Academy, stuff like that.  I'm open to other suggestions.  Gotta run.  I need to go to a diplomatic dinner since Diana is busy.
